ORPGDM (first to post)

Masahiro sat upright in a nearby tree, across from the pond, his shoulders leaning against the trunk. Perched upon one of the higher branches, his staff rested at an angle between the crook of his leg and a smaller branch above him, held in place by the sage's sturdy hands. From his position of relaxation, the leaf's one and only Sannin had been observing the man below and across the pond from him for sometime, the leaves of the tree acting as natural camouflage through out his espionage. The jounin, or perhaps tokubetsu jounin, as Masahiro hadn't quite figured it out yet, had arrived quite sometime later then Masahiro himself, having stumbled upon the area at apparent randomness. In contrast, Masahiro was more then familiar with the location, and as a result of the nin's ignorance to his presence, the man had walked into a corner, with few available escape routes.

Regardless of the nin's intentions, he was from another country, as such Masahiro was using caution. Reconnaissance was first and foremost, especially considering the nin's age, and the fact that he was alone. Shinobi who felt comfortable by themselves in a foreign land, often had some level of power, mediocre or not. On that note, Masahiro attempted to remember the time he had spent travelling in Kirigakure. It was an intriguing way to pass the time, given his observation would no doubt be a patient affair. He thought back to Torasame, the Hoshigaki known only as the tiger. An oddly contradicting name, but all the same, the monster of a man had barely let Masahiro escape with his skin. Perhaps this new-comer was also a member of the seven swords. This too was doubtful however as the shinobi before him seemed to lack that... that... was it confidence? Hard to say. It had been several years since Masahiro had come into contact with the swordsmen. Yet still, there was something not quite correct about the nin before him, this unbecoming nature. He was a large man, but boyish all the same. He appeared to contain power but lack ability. Soon enough, Masahiro would know, rather then simply see. And as the strange nin looked down to spear a fish, Masahiro knitted his hands together, black clouds rising into the sky. Those were Masahiro's koi! Reared by the Sage of the Snowy Peaks himself. They were certainly not a meal! Containing his anger, it was then that Masahiro spoke up, the sky beginning to grow darker. "You there! I suppose you weren't aware that those were sacred Koi?" The anger in the Sage's voice was evident, but the volume was still in check. Dropping from the branch, Masahiro landed a moment before his staff did, the weapon digging itself into the earth beside him to stand unaided. "Not to mention sacred Koi of the Fire Country. That country, being NOT the Water Country?"

Masahiro stood still, waiting for an answer. He was presumably within the nin's field of vision, being off to his right and about twenty feet away, the pond separating the two. The sage held the advantage currently, being that he was off to the man's right and had him cornered. The nin would need to square up with Masahiro before mounting an attack. The same was unfortunately false in Masahiro's case. "Well then?"

You didn't post any mention of noticing these in your post. This is unfortunately going to be a fatal mistake, as based on your post, your character is busy studying my own character, and thus not paying attention to what's now above him.))

The gambit had worked. The opposing nin reacted as expected, his eyes turning to face Masahiro as he stood, unfortunately neglecting the black clouds that had now gathered above him some twenty or thirty feet up. Masahiro paid them no mind either, having only given up the high ground of his perch to redirect his opponent's gaze, so as not to let the technique on to his opponent. Instead, he continued to converse with him, turning his attention away from the fact that the battle had already been won, despite his opponent's statements.

"It seems you know this place. Am I correct?" The nin didn't seem finished, Masahiro spent his little remaining patience waiting for him to do so. "Though I guess it doesn't matter. Battles are won by not only the field but the skill in the combatats." A ridiculous statement, the obviousness of which shone brighter then the reflections in the pond.

"I know this place better then I do my birth home. As such, you're violating it's sanctity by even being present here, never mind the fact that you've killed one of my beloved pets. For that I demand blood."

The sage was halfway through his last sentence when the black clouds silently dispersed their charge; an oily flammable liquid, as dark as the fluffy entities they came from, in the form of a thick rain, concentrated above Makeo. As Masahiro said the word "blood" the first of several hundred, if not thousands of drops passed before Makeo's face. By the time the nin would realize something was falling from above, they would reach the fire. There was not a moment left to form a handseal, or even draw a blade. With the open flames right beside the Kiri ninja, the explosion would envelope him, charring his body and transforming it to a corpse. The blast would then be large enough to cover the remaining escape points, covering the cliff edges that were now behind and to either side of the nin, but not quite reaching Masahiro. The strategy had worked perfectly for the Sage. And as the described explosion happened, he had no doubt in his mind, that the nin was dead.

The hardest part now, would be cleaning up.

((Luckily you didn't describe the sharks size other then large, neither does the jutsu description.. The only information that this then conveys is that it's roughly larger then an average shark. Your lack of detail, i.e. whether you need to use handseals for techniques works both ways.

Masahiro simply smiled, raising his right hand so his palm faced the shield. "So, whose mistake?" The sage opened his mouth to speak, watching the nin form hand seals through the shield. Rather then utter a comeback however, Masahiro spoke only a single word.

"Light."

A blinding light then erupted from Masahiro's palm, and as it did so, the experienced ninja sidestepped, grasping his staff during the motion. It wasn't very bright to shout out the name of each technique you were using. It gave your opponents too much of an opening to react. The large shark of water raced past Masahiro at this point, absorbing chakra from his Mune no Tentei technique and getting larger, but missing all the same. Spinning the staff over head and making sure to use the cover of his blinding technique before it was too late, Masahiro formed a single hand seal with his free palm and breathed in. Next, a massive burst of wind exploded outwards from him. He was taking a page from Makeo's book now. The nin had done one thing right, counter fire with water. Likewise however, wind countered lightning, and it was a neutral ally to water. The technique would break the weak C ranked shield, as it had already blocked a technique of it's own rank, and would then force Makeo in the only direction left: over the cliff.
