Personality:Katsuoru is driven by honor, but not controlled by it. He's a very analytical individual, playful, and very into the "ladies". He has a tendency to want to reason with individuals, even during battle. In reasoning, he hopes to end conflict without casualty, if possible.He's very easy-going, and randomly has what he calls "laziness attacks". Also, he is usually a very liked person amongst those he meets. Even enemies find it hard to hate him outside of them actually having to face off against his tenacious fighting. Within the Clan, he was more known for his studious nature, and for his ability to comprehend things beyond his years. He always had this way of understanding peoples feelings and emotions. This wasn't something that could just be taught at the academy, but it was a natural ability of his. Combining that with his already analytical nature, he could more often than not understand the limits of not only himself, but of those he faced in combat, and of those on his team. Also, aside from when he was "thinking" or "analyzing", there was rarely a moment in which you wouldn't see Katsu smiling.

Clan History:The Hyuuga clan were one of the founding noble families of Leaf village. The clan itself is said to be the ancestors of the Uchiha clan who possess the bloodline of the Sharingan eye. Each clan member possess the "Byakugan" or "White Eye." When the "Byakugan" is activated, the clan member gains an extra-sensory perception, which gives them penetrating sight and telescopic vision. This allows them to see the internal chakra circulation system in other beings. This vision also grants the member a near 360° view of their surroundings. The higher the skill of the clan member, the further the distance from which they can sense incoming attacks. Unfortunately the vision does have a weakness, a small blindspot that extends outwards from their upper back.

The clan uses this ability in conjunction with their own chakra creating the Juuken (gentle fist) fighting style. By focusing the chakra to their finger tips, they can press the tenketsu or chakra pressure points of their opponents body. When the finger nears the tenketsu the chakra is forced out, collasping the targetted tenketsu for a period of time. The tenketsu serve as the connectors and exit points for the chakra pathways. So when they are stopped by the Hyuuga clan member, the ninja greatly loses his or her ability to utilize their chakra for jutsu.

These great powers lead to internal strife within the family. Because the eye grants such a unique and powerful ability, the clan became possessive and over-protective of it. Seeing only the main family as worthy users and inheritors of the eye, the heads of the clan began to place restrictions on those branch family members not in power. What resulted were two Hyuuga lines, the powerful main family who would represent the line, and the branch family who were directed to protect the main family and bear the cursed seal.

The cursed seal is placed on the foreheads of branch family members. It serves as a means to protect the secrets of the Hyuuga Byakugan eye. If the branch family member was to ever betray the main family or be killed in battle, the seal would be activated to destroy the body's secrets. Thus forcing the branch family to further bow to the will of the main family.

Description:What does it do: Another 'absolute defense'. At the exact moment when a blow is landed on the body, large amounts of chakra are expelled from the chakra holes around the body. With that force, the user’s body spins like a top. The combined efforts of the released chakra and the spin, first deflect the attack, then throw the opponent backwards.

Combined with the Hyuuga's natural abilitiy to channel chakra from any chakra point along the body, Katsuoru channels his lightning based chakra when striking or running, almost doubling the speed of either.

History/Background Story:

Birth/Academy Arc: Katsuoru Hyuuga, son of Main Household members Aya and Aoi Hyuuga, was born into the clan 17 years ago. From the moment he was born, especially being in the Main Household of the clan, he had great expectations placed upon him. Before he was old enough to enroll in the Leaf Village's ninja academy, he showed a prowess well beyond his years. Once enrolled, he immediately became the "leader" figure amongst his fellow team members. This wasn't a role he'd asked for, it was more of a natural calling. His analytical nature was often called upon in a vast array of situations his team was placed in. His hard work payed off during the Genin exams, especially once in the Forest Of Death.


Genin Arc:Paired with his teammates Kenta (male) and Emi (female), the team more notably known as Team Katsu was actually lead by a jounin simply known as Mugen. The Jounin was more of a non-interventionist, thus the team often operated on its own unless assistance or guidance was absolutely needed. The team completed a fair share of missions, but also failed a few. Even in the failed missions, they were praised for their ability to hold their own. They always replayed the missions amongst themselves afterward so that if they ever crossed similar situations, they were well prepared. Also, during his stint as Genin, Katsu had to deal with the jealousies that came from some of the other students who weren't as fortunate as to come from the more well known families within the hidden leaf village. On occasion, such animosity hindered his training. Some students attempted "sneak attacks", which proved futile seeing as the byakugan's ability was the best surveillance systems in the ninja world. At times, it even got so bad that Genin from other teams would try to either sabotage his teams mission, or even do their best to keep his team from turning in his missions in a timely manner. Throughout all this, Katsu's love for his village, and even for those that did these mischievous things to him, never wavered.

Slowly, the very tired and worn out Katsuoru Hyuuga made his way through the currently busy walkways of the Mist Village. His hair, currently uncouth in appearance, blew off of his shoulders as a light breeze danced throughout the village. He'd just come from yet another hard day's work of practicing and mastering his jutsu's and fighting techniques. This was a routine that he'd done ever since he was an academy student. Now, as the newly appointed MizuKage, he saw no reason to slack off in that aspect of his overall being. Although tired, his walk back to the Kage Mansion was very leisurly. The only tension brought to the atmosphere was the always lurking presence of the personally selected ANBU that rarely let a moment pass in which they weren't protecting their leader. Also, never too far from Katsuoru himself, there was always the presence of his "friends", the other members of Kirigakure's 7 Swordsmen of the Mist. One in particular was his childhood comrade from the prestigious Megami family.

Shin Megami and Katsuoru walked beside one another as they made their way towards the Kage Mansion. An air of relief could be sensed through the smiles on the villagers faces, as they felt more protected than ever with these two at the helm. Katsuoru and Shin both passionately protected Kiri during many missions, be it assassinations, escorts, defending, or random missions that were made to boost the country's economy. Their hard work ethic, along with the untimely passing of the prior MizuKage, prompted the higher ups to select between the two of them for the Kage title. Unknown to most, the deciding factor as to who would take the position came to a simple aspect: Who hated doing paperwork the least. As it stood, Shin despised that aspect of leadership a bit more than Katsu. So, as it stood, Shin became leader of the 7 swordsmen, while Katsuoru became the 6th Mizukage.

"Shin, you know, you should do my paperwork this once. I have... um... research to conduct." The words flowed as smoothly as ever from under the straw hat that was pulled low enough to cover his eyes. All that could be seen was the huge grin that one would mistake for that of a child that just received the christmas present he'd always wanted. Other meaningless conversation ensued as the two continued to walk until they finally reached the mansion. Upon entering, there were a number of people standing around, likely awaiting orders. Katsuoru let out a sigh, slumping at the shoulders, all the while dragging his feet as he made his way behind his desk. Almost as though pure dead weight, he dropped into his plush chair, rocking back and forth slowly before finally placing his right hand in the air so to quiet the commotion.

The green haired ninja rocked back in his chair, tilted his straw hat backwards to allow those in his view to see his entire face, and addressed them all, "This may come across as informal, but those of you that know me know I do things a tad different. But, before I give out missions, tell me how you're all doin today. Also, once missions are given out, here's a little incentive to those who like to relax. First team to finish their assigned mission will be treated to hotsprings, and dinner." As he watched everyone's reactions, he slowly leaned forward and reached for the mission scrolls laid out neatly on his desk top. His brow twitched as he read over some of the requests that nearly anyone would deem ridiculous. Once finished browsing, Katsuoru's attention was drawn to a Jounin that even he once referred to as Sensei. "Inei, you have a great group there, especially with the Nara Clan member. I have a mission for the 4 of you thats labeled a B-Rank, with high potential to be an A-Rank", he spoke in a respectful yet stern manner. "Your mission is to quell the skirmishes taking place around the southern border of our country. I'd prefer you to detain the leader of the missing-nins causing the trouble. Should this not be an option, please eliminate him. Inside this scroll is the name of the leader, and a recent pic of him, attained from our ANBU. Is this easy enough for your team, Inei?"
